Working Papers

Students between the ages of 14 and 18 years are eligible for working papers.

In order to receive working papers you will need to have certain documents:

  • Current WHS students must have a completed Promise of Employment signed by the employer.
  • Students who do not attend WHS but live in Weston must have a completed Promise of Employment and submit a copy of  the following original documents: birth certificate, current passport or driver’s license.

The Promise of Employment must be on company letterhead and include hourly wage (currently minimum wage is $12.00), the hours per week and a DETAILED list of tasks (no vague descriptions like ‘cleaning’ are permitted).

These are State of Connecticut requirements, employers must comply with the state regulations.

Working papers are issued Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:30 a.m.-2:15 p.m.  Due to Covid-19 we will accept documentation via email.  Please scan and send all necessary paperwork to Jodi Sacchetta at [email protected]. Please allow 24-hours from receipt of paperwork for working papers to be completed and sent to you.
