Kindergarten Specific Information:

Dear Kindergarten Parent,

We know that moving from a preschool to kindergarten can be a big transition for many children and parents.  Based on our years of experience, we have found most children adjust to such moves very easily.  We have arranged a variety of occasions for us to meet and begin cultivating a positive relationship.

Although it seems early for kindergarten registration, the information we collect through this process will help us to confirm the projections of the New England School Development Council (NESDEC) and to begin planning for the next school year.  There will be specifically scheduled opportunities for you to drop off completed kindergarten registration packets before classes start (please contact our main school office for details on times and locations).  If you are unable to submit your registration packet at one of these times, please contact Laurie Eagle (Main Office Administrative Assistant) at 203-221-6300.

A completed registration packet includes many things:

  • Completed Infosnap forms printed from the Infosnap site
  • Proof of residency: Warranty Deed & A utility bill – telephone, gas or electric
  • Copy of your child’s birth certificate
  • Completed State of CT Health form*
    • Note: Completed blue State of Connecticut Health Assessment Record (Connecticut State Law forbids any child from beginning school without updated health records and immunizations.)  This form must be completed by your doctor and on file in the nurse’s office before your child starts school.  This record should be up-to-date through the 5-year-old checkup, unless your child turns five after school begins.  If this is the case, the Health Assessment Record should be complete through the four-year-old checkup and updated ASAP after your child turns five. Keep a copy for your records.

We cannot complete the registration for your child without: 1. completed registration packet, 2. proofs of residency, 3. birth certificate and, 4. health assessment record.

Before classes start we will hold an informational meeting to give you the opportunity to meet the administration, and to learn more about our kindergarten program. Please contact our main office to learn the time and location for this meeting.  We look forward to meeting you and working together for our children.

Sincerely,

Principal
Laura Kaddis
