Please read the attached memo from Superintendent Bill McKersie regarding COVID-19 reminders for spring vacation.
Thank you.
WPS Families and Staff:
Out of an abundance of caution due to the predicted snow this afternoon, WPS and District Offices will have a 2-hour early dismissal today, Monday, February 22, 2021. Please note that all afterschool activities are also cancelled. WMS and WHS will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. (NOTE: WHS will dismiss as normal at 12:20 p.m., with the Extended Learning Hour canceled) and HES and WIS (on Remote Learning today) will dismiss at 1:15 p.m.
Thank you and stay safe.
Bill
WPS Families and Staff:
WPS will be on Remote Mode for all schools and district offices Friday, February 19. We are concerned about the prediction of snow and freezing rain throughout the day, making safe travel a day-long problem. The Remote Mode allows for a full day of instruction.
A decision on afternoon and evening extracurricular activities and athletics will be made at 1:00 p.m. If by mid-afternoon the snow and freezing rain have subsided and cleanup has progressed well, we may be able to allow extracurricular activities and athletics.
WPS personnel should work remotely. The exception are facilities and grounds staff, who will report based on their supervisor’s direction.
Please be safe.
Bill
WPS Families and Staff:
WPS will be on Remote Mode for all schools and offices Thursday, February 18. We are concerned about the projected timing of the snow storm, making travel a problem from noon time onwards today. The Remote Mode allows for a full day of instruction.
Afternoon and evening extracurriculars and athletics are cancelled due to the projected timing of the storm. We want to be safe.
WPS personnel should work remotely. The exception are facilities and grounds staff, who will report based on their supervisor’s direction.
Please be safe.
Bill
WPS Families and Staff:
Due to the timing of the snow storm and potential icing, WPS, including District Offices, will be on a Remote School Day on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 for all students and staff. All in-person programs and activities are cancelled.
WPS Campus and buildings will be closed the full day and evening to allow for safe clean-up of the storm. Only 12-month staff essential to storm clean-up will report to Campus, as advised by their supervisor.
Be safe and be will.
Bill
WPS Families and Staff:
Due to storm cleanup, WPS and district offices will have a 2-hour delayed opening tomorrow, Monday, February 8, 2021.
Each school will send additional communications with follow up details.
Thank you.
