IF YOU ARE CALLING ABOUT THE LOCATION OF A SPECIFIC BUS DURING THE ACTUAL AM OR PM BUS ROUTE, PLEASE CALL THE FIRST STUDENT BUS DISPATCHER AT 203-454-1984.
The Weston Public Schools are using FIRST STUDENT and RELIA Transportation for the current school year. Modeled on area districts of similar size and geography, this arrangement is expected to provide consistent and excellent service to our students and families.
FIRST STUDENT will be transporting all students to and from Hurlutt Elementary School, Weston Intermediate School, Weston Middle School, and Weston High School. RELIA Transportation will provide transportation to students receiving special education services at schools outside of the district.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding school bus transportation, including routing and pick-up/drop-off times, please contact Theresa Taylor at First Student at (203) 454-1984. Her email address is theresa.taylor@firstgroup.com. Ms. Taylor is based on the Weston campus and works solely on Weston Public Schools transportation.
All notifications to families and staff concerning delays and coordination of bus route information for Buses 1-17 and 19-21 will be managed by Ms. Taylor.
Parents or guardians of students riding on Bus 31 or 32, in-district special education transportation, should also contact Ms. Taylor if a ride needs to be canceled or if there are any route-related issues.

Parents or guardians of students riding on special education transportation to schools located outside of the district, please contact Brenda Deleon or Ashera Russell, our Relia representatives, at 203-380-9616 if a ride needs to be canceled or if there are any route-related issues.

2024-2025 BUS ROUTE INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE
ON THE POWERSCHOOL PARENT PORTAL.
Specific information regarding your child’s bus route will be available to you in the Powerschool Parent Portal when this portal is opened to families or soon after the first day the portal is open. Families will be notified when the portal is open. Once the portal is open, please check your child’s bus information regularly as it can be updated as necessary prior to the start of school.

BUS STOP TIMES - ESTIMATED AM PICK-UP AND PM DROP-OFF TIMES LISTED ON YOUR BUS ROUTE SCHEDULE (IN YOUR PARENT PORTAL) CAN BE DIFFERENT FROM THE ACTUAL TIMES YOUR BUS IS REACHING YOUR STOP DEPENDING ON WHICH STUDENTS ASSIGNED TO A PARTICULAR BUS ARE USING THE BUS SERVICE ON A GIVEN DAY OR AT ALL. YOUR ACTUAL BUS STOP TIME SHOULD BECOME ESTABLISHED OVER THE FIRST WEEK OR TWO OF SCHOOL BASED ON THE RIDERSHIP ON YOUR PARTICULAR BUS. THEREAFTER, THE TIMES SHOULD BE CONSISTENT, WITHIN A FEW MINUTE RANGE, EVEN IF THEY DIFFER FROM THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATED TIMES.

SCHOOL BUSES ARE THE SAFEST WAY TO GET TO SCHOOLS
School buses are nearly 8 times safer than passenger vehicles. But children must take care when boarding or leaving the bus. While an average of 7 school-age passengers are killed in school bus crashes each year, 19 are killed getting on and off the bus.
Most of those killed are children, five to seven years old. They are hit in the danger zone around the bus (A), either by a passing vehicle or by the school bus itself. It is illegal for a vehicle to pass a bus with its red light flashing.

Laws exist to protect children getting on and off the bus AND protect you from a tragedy. Check with your school or police department for more information on your state's laws. Here are some rules:
Violation of these laws can result in a citation and fine. In many places, school bus drivers can report passing vehicles.
