New Assistant Director for Pupil Services Named at Weston High School

[Weston, CT, August 2, 2024] – Weston Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Hartigan as Assistant Director of Pupil Services at Weston High School.

Hartigan has been a special educator for the past sixteen years, serving in a leadership capacity for the last four. He comes to Weston from the Greenwich Public Schools, having most recently served as Assistant Principal of the Julian Curtiss Elementary School. In addition to his work as a teacher and leader, Hartigan enjoys working with students as an athletic coach. 

Regarding Hartigan’s appointment, Weston’s Director of Pupil Services Tracy Edwards said, “We are extremely fortunate to have Matt join our team. He brings a breadth of experience to the role and was recognized by his references as a student-centered leader who builds trusting relationships with staff and families.” 

Hartigan holds a certificate of advanced study in special education from Southern Connecticut State University. He also holds a Master’s in education of social studies from St. Lawrence University. During the interview process, Hartigan conveyed a passion for working with students and families to support inclusive and equitable experiences for all students. 

Principal Meghan Conetta said, “we’re so excited to welcome Matt to the team at Weston High School. His experience will be a great asset in our support of all students.” 

Hartigan replaces Benjamin Neumann, who will return to Weston High School this school year in the role of special education teacher. 

“I am honored to be joining the Weston Public Schools as Assistant Director for Pupil Personal Services. I look forward to collaborating with students, staff and families to support a positive school community of academic excellence! Go Trojans!” said Hartigan. He will begin his tenure on August 12, 2024.
