Dear Families of Weston Students:

We continue to use the PowerSchool student information system's Parent Portal to communicate with families of enrolled students.  The Portal provides all PK-12 families with instant access to your child’s teacher assignment for the upcoming year, allows you to complete school forms electronically, and easily access other important information, such as attendance and progress reports.  With one secure sign-on, you are able to select tabs for each child you have attending the Weston Public Schools.  For families with more than one child, you need only a single username and password for all of your children.

Parent Portal will open on Wednesday, August 21 at 10AM.

How can I view my child’s teacher assignment with the Parent Portal?

Please go to the PowerSchool website, https://weston.powerschool.com/public/, to view your child’s teacher assignment when the Parent Portal is officially opened on August 21.  You will need the username and password you used last year to access the Parent Portal.

If you do not recall your username or password, click on the link for “Forgot Username?” or “Forgot Password?” to have it sent to your email address. Please do not click on the “Forgot Username” link until after 12 on Wednesday, August 21.  In the event you are unable to recover your account sign-in information, please contact your child’s school directly for assistance once the Parent Portal is open.

How can I view my child’s teacher assignment if my child will be entering kindergarten or will be new to the district?

Families with children new to the district will receive a letter or email with your parent portal username and password.  Families with new kindergarteners who already have an existing parent portal account, your student will be added by school staff to your existing parent portal account.

What if I need assistance in setting up the PowerSchool Portal?

If you need assistance in setting up the Parent Portal, you may call the Hurlbutt Elementary School main office on Wednesday, August 21 from 10:30 to 1:00PM, where the District Data Coordinator will be available to assist you.

When will my child’s teacher assignment for the 2024-2025 school year become available through the Portal?

Teacher assignments for students in grades K-12 will be posted electronically on Wednesday, August 21th and can be viewed through the Parent Portal.

How do I view my child’s bus information in the Portal?

Bus information will only be available in the Parent Portal this year.  When the Parent Portal opens on Wednesday August 21, click on the name of your student, then click on the bus icon on the left to see the bus information.  To view a second child, click their name in the upper left and then click on the bus icon to see that child’s transportation information.  Continue that process to see all of your child(ren’s) transportation information.

How will I receive information regarding school closings and other important communications from the District?

Communications from the District are sent based on the information you have provided during the registration process.  We ask that you review and update this information by completing the 2024-2025 PowerSchool Enrollment demographic update, available through your Parent Portal account.

If nothing changed, do I still need to complete the Demographic Update?

All families need to complete the Demographic Update every year.  There are many items that require your acknowledgement and/or agreement each school year, such as internet use, release of information, etc.  Also, it provides a means of updating medical information like allergies and medical conditions.

We are looking forward to a successful year ahead of us.  If you have any questions regarding the start of the year, please contact your child’s school.  Please do not unsubscribe from these emails.  You can adjust your message settings in the Parent Portal when it opens.
