Dear Families,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inform you of a recent change within our district leadership team. Our Director of Safety and Security has resigned. We recognize the importance of this critical position in ensuring the safety of our students and staff.I want to assure you that we have already begun the recruitment and hiring process to fill this role. We are committed to finding a qualified individual who shares our dedication to a safe learning environment for everyone.

In the meantime, I am pleased to announce that Mr. Michael Del Mastro, our Director of Facilities, will serve as the interim Director of Safety and Security. Mr. Del Mastro has been with our district for 13 years and previously held responsibilities relating to safety and security.  He understands the intricacies of the work and  is a valued and trusted member of our team.  He knows our community well and is prepared to  oversee the daily responsibilities of our security specialists during this transition.

I also want to highlight that our work continues uninterrupted. I extend my gratitude to Mr. DiVito, our Director of  Digital Learning and Technology, for his leadership in advancing enhancements to our mass notification system in order to  ensure timely and effective communication in any situation. Mr. Cross, our Director of Finance and Operations, and Mr. Del Mastro will partner closely with Mr. Divito to support these efforts, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to student and staff safety.

As we move forward, I want to emphasize that I will be relentless in my expectations that the new Director meet the responsibilities critical to this role.  As Superintendent, it is my responsibility that  our safety measures are not just met, but exceeded. Thank you for your continued support and trust during this time of transition. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Sincerely,

Lisa Barbiero
