Dear WPS Families,
As promised, this is a follow up communication to our communication on January 18. PowerSchool has provided an update regarding their data breach. In the coming weeks, Experian (on behalf of PowerSchool) will distribute direct email notifications to affected WPS families and staff. This email notice will include further details about the information that was involved, and the resources PowerSchool will offer. Experian will establish a call center for families and educators in case they have questions about these resources.
PowerSchool will offer two years of complimentary identity protection services for all current and former students and educators whose information was determined to be involved. They will also offer two years of complimentary credit monitoring services for all adult students and educators involved. Although social security numbers were not included in the breach of WPS information, PowerSchool will still offer us these services.
Please be on the lookout for this notification, as it will be sent directly by Experian/PowerSchool, and not by WPS district.
Thank you,
Daniel DiVito
Director of Digital Learning & Technology
