To the Weston Community:
As members of the Weston Board of Education, we condemn any and all acts of hate. The recent incident of anti-Semitic vandalism at the Middle School is in direct opposition to the values we uphold as a community and a Nation. It is terribly unfortunate this is not the first incident. We trust and support the school and district administrators' response to these incidents. WPS has policies to address hate based conduct, bullying, and non-discrimination that the administration follows.
Hate has no place in our schools. As Superintendent Barbiero stated in her letter of March 14, collaboration with the Anti-Defamation League around the No Place for Hate program is already in progress.
Our Board of Education is committed to ensuring the success of the district mission by maintaining a safe community and inclusive climate that honors the uniqueness of every individual. We will continue to engage with community partners to strengthen our efforts in promoting respect and understanding in our schools.
Sincerely,
Members of the Weston Board of Education
