Weston Public Schools proudly announces the appointment of Jason Bluestein as Principal of Weston Middle School.
Mr. Bluestein returns to Weston having left the assistant principalship of Weston Intermediate School in 2012 to become Principal of Burr Elementary School in Fairfield, where he has served for the past 13 years. He has an extensive background in school leadership, literacy instruction, and middle grade education, having worked as a principal, assistant principal, curriculum leader, and English Language Arts teacher in grades 4, 5, and 8. In addition to his work as a school leader, Bluestein continues to teach at the university graduate level, working prepare the next generation of teachers.
Regarding the search, Director of Human Resources Juliane Givoni said, “Mr. Bluestein distinguished himself throughout the selection process as a thoughtful and strategic leader who cares deeply about his work with students. Weston is pleased to appoint a leader of this caliber to such a critical leadership position.”
“Jason is dedicated to student growth and success. He brings successful experience and excellent professional skills,” said Acting Superintendent Deborah Low regarding Mr. Bluestein’s appointment. “Jason will be a great match for Weston Middle School. He is committed to continuous improvement and has an impressive record of positive collaboration with staff, students, and families.”
Mr. Bluestein earned advanced certificates in Executive Leadership from the University of Connecticut and in Administration from Southern Connecticut State University. He holds a Master’s degree in Education from Sacred Heart University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Connecticut.
“I’m honored to be rejoining the Weston Public Schools,” said Bluestein, “I’m very excited to join the Weston Middle School. I want to build upon the great things that are already happening at the school, and I’m really looking forward to doing great work together on behalf of Weston’s children.”
Mr. Bluestein will begin his tenure at WMS on July 1, 2025, upon the retirement of current Principal Dan Doak.
